Former Blue Devil Grant Hill donates $1.25 million to Duke

Grant Hill and his wife Tamia donated $1.25 million to Duke, the school announced Wednesday. $1 million of the donation will be used to upgrade athletics facilities, and the remaining $250,000 will go to the Annual Fund for the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.

Hill played at Duke from 1990 to 1994, winning national championships in 1991 and 1992.  He averaged 14.9 points and 3.6 assists per game in his four seasons. As a senior year, he posted 17.4 points and 5.2 assists per game on 39 percent three-point shooting. Hill was named to the All-America first team in 1993-94 and the second team in '92-93, and earned ACC Player of the Year and National Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Hill was the No. 3 pick in the 1994 draft and played 18 NBA seasons, making seven All-Star teams. He announced his retirement on June 1, 2013.
