Class of 2015 guard Jalen Coleman verbally committed to Illinois on Tuesday.
Class of 2015 guard Jalen Coleman verbally committed to Illinois on Tuesday, according to his Twitter account.
Coleman is listed as a four-star recruit on ESPN and Rivals and a five-star recruit on 247Sports. In 247Sports' composite rankings, he is the No. 33 player in his class and the No. 7 point guard.
The guard from Indianapolis chose the Fighting Illini over offers from Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Arizona, and a host of other schools.
Coleman becomes the third commitment to coach John Groce from the class of 2015, joining four-stars D.J. Williams and Aaron Jordan. Together, they currently make up 247Sports' No. 6 team nationally and No. 2 in the Big Ten.
Excited to announce that I will be attending the Univ of Illinois. Looking forward to adding banners and accomplishing my academic goals.— Jalen Coleman (@ColemanJalen) September 23, 2014
