Michigan State forward Branden Dawson left Wednesday night's game against Eastern Michigan with a sprained left wrist. He broke the same hand last season and missed nine games.
Dawson will undergo further tests on the wrist.
The senior sustained the injury with 15:30 remaining in the second half when he fell awkwardly on his wrist after a dunk attempt. Dawson went to the locker room and later returned to the bench with his left hand wrapped in ice but did not check back into the game.
Dawson broke the same hand last season, an injury which forced him to miss nine games before he returned toward the end of February.
The Spartans went on to defeat the Eagles 66-46 on Wednesday night. Dawson had four points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes.
Dawson entered Wednesday's game as Michigan State's leading rebounder (8.7) and third-leading scorer (11.6).
The Spartans improved to 8-3 with their win Wednesday. They host Texas Southern on Saturday.
