Memphis' Austin Nichols (ankle) out at least two weeks

Saturday February 7th, 2015

Memphis sophomore forward Austin Nichols will miss two weeks with a sprained ankle, head coach Josh Pastner said after Saturday's 61-60 loss to Temple. Nichols will get an MRl.

After scoring 17 points and eight rebounds, Nichols spent the game's final seven minutes on crutches. The Tigers were ahead when the reigning American Athletic Conference Player of the Year was injured. They ended up losing on a jumper by Temple guard Josh Brown with seconds to play.

Nichols is Memphis' leading scorer (13.2 points per game), rebounder (6.0) and shot-blocker (3.2).

The Tigers (14-9), fifth in the American at 6-4, have lost two of its last three and will next play Tuesday at Eastern Carolina.
