Louisville suspends starting point guard Chris Jones

Louisville starting point guard Chris Jones has been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules, the school announced Tuesday.
Jones will not play in Wednesday's game against Syracuse, but the team did not say how long the suspension will last. Coach Rick Pitino provided additional details to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Jones, a senior, leads the team with 3.7 assists per game and is third on the team with 13.6 points per game. He led Louisville with 20 points in Saturday's loss to North Carolina State.

The 12-ranked Cardinals are 20-5 on the season and 8-4 in the ACC. They are currently tied for fourth place in the conference. The first four teams in the ACC receive first-round byes in the conference tournament.
