Louisville guard Anton Gill has received his release and plans to transfer from the school, according to multiple reports.
Three sources confirm to Cardinal Authority that Anton Gill will transfer from Louisville.— Jody Demling (@jdemling) March 30, 2015
The Cardinals will also lose senior Wayne Blackshear, meaning Louisville is positioned to start the 2015-16 without three of its five starters from the preceding season.
Gill, a sophomore, averaged only 2.5 points per game for the Cardinals this year but gained notoriety in the NCAA tournament for making three field goals in a six minute span to help propel Louisville to victory in the Sweet 16 against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
It is unclear where the Raleigh, N.C.-native intends to transfer to.
