The news of Gill's likely departure comes just hours after head coach Rick Pitino confirmed junior forward Montrezl Harrell and sophomore guard Terry Rozier will both enter the NBA Draft.
The Cardinals will also lose senior Wayne Blackshear, meaning Louisville is positioned to start the 2015-16 without three of its five starters from the preceding season.

Gill, a sophomore, averaged only 2.5 points per game for the Cardinals this year but gained notoriety in the NCAA tournament for making three field goals in a six minute span to help propel Louisville to victory in the Sweet 16 against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
It is unclear where the Raleigh, N.C.-native intends to transfer to.
Louisville lost in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament Sunday to Michigan State, ending their 2014-15 season.
