Three-star recruit Frankie Hughes commits to Louisville amid scandal

Tuesday October 20th, 2015

On the same day more news broke regarding their player-bribing scandal, three-star recruit Frankie Hughes announced he has committed to play for the Louisville Cardinals.

Hughes played high school basketball at Garfield Heights in Cleveland, Ohio, and had offers from Penn State, St. Joseph’s, Wisconsin and several others. He attended the same high school as current Cardinal Trey Lewis.

Hughes will join five-star recruit V.J. King in this year’s class for the Cardinals.

On Tuesday, five former Louisville players and recruits confirmed allegations that they attended parties that included escorts paid for by a former member of the basketball staff. One former player reportedly had sex with a dancer after the staff member paid her.

Head coach Rick Pitino denied any involvement or knowledge of the situation in an interview on Tuesday.
