University of Miami football players Jawand Blue and Alex Figueroa have been dismissed from the team after being arrested for sexual battery of a 17-year-old girl. Police told NBC 6 South Florida that the alleged incident took place in a dorm room on July 5.
The two players are suspended from school and prohibited from campus facilities while the university investigates the matter. The victim reported the incident to university police.
Police reports said Blue and Figueroa admitted to supplying the victim with alcoholic beverages. The reports also said that the victim was "physically helpless to resist."
Athletic director Blake James issued a statement on the dismissals.
