Report: Three more Texas players could be suspended

Wednesday July 30th, 2014

Three Texas football players could be suspended for violating team rules, according to a report from Horns Digest.

Senior offensive tackle Desmond Harrison, junior offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle and junior wide receiver Daje Johnson are "down to their last strike," according to sources cited in the report.

“Those three still have a chance,” one source told HD.

This offseason, two Texas players were suspended after being charged with sexual assault and four were dismissed for team rules violations, according to reports.

Texas officials have not confirmed the suspensions or dismissals.

Estelle appeared in 12 games last season and Harrison appeared in seven. Johnson started six games, rushed for 343 yards on 51 carries and led the team with 182 punt return yards.

After going 8-5 last season, Texas hired Charlie Strong from Louisville to replace Mack Brown as head coach.
