Texas redshirt freshman offensive lineman Rami Hammad has left the program and seeks to transfer, coach Charlie Strong said Thursday.

Texas redshirt freshman offensive lineman Rami Hammad has left the program and seeks to transfer, coach Charlie Strong said Thursday.

Hammad had been working with the third-team unit.

The Irving, Texas, native redshirted last season after being rated the No. 10 offensive guard in the class of 2013 by the recruiting website Rivals.com.

The Longhorns open the season Aug. 30 against North Texas.

Strong said OL Rami Hammad has left the program and wants to transfer.
