Freshman Brad Kayaa has been named the starting quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes, reports Matt Porter of ThePalm Beach Post.

Kaaya will get the start when the Canes take on Louisville in the season opener next Monday. According to head coach Al Golden, "it was a tight battle" between Kaaya and graduate student Jake Heaps.
