Mack Brown agrees with Charlie Strong not to talk Texas on ESPN

Tuesday August 26th, 2014

Former Texas coach Mack Brown said he made an agreement with current Texas coach Charlie Strong not to talk about the Longhorns as a college football analyst for ESPN and ABC this fall.

Brown said he was the one who suggested they make the agreement.

“No. 1, Charlie’s a great coach and has a tremendous background,” Brown said on a ESPN conference call with reporters, according to the Austin American-Statesman. “He and I made an agreement early, and I really suggested it, that I not talk about Texas.”

ESPN announced in July that Brown would be part of the network's coverage after 16 seasons coaching at Texas. Brown is not expected to appear on ESPN's Longhorn network.

Texas announced the hiring of former Louisville coach Strong in January.
