Bowling Green junior quarterback Matt Johnson will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hip injury, Bowling Green coach Dino Babers said.
Johnson was injured in the team's season opening loss at Western Kentucky against. He threw for 313 yards and one touchdown in the game.
Redshirt sophomore James Knapke will start in Bowling Green's next game against VMI on Saturday.

Last season, Johnson led Bowling Green to the MAC Championship, throwing for 3,467 and 25 touchdowns. Before this season, Johnson was named to the watch list for The Maxwell Award, which is given to college football's player of the year.
