Buffalo-Kent State football game postponed due to snowstorm

Wednesday night's scheduled game between Kent State and Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y., has been postponed, the Mid-American Conference announced.
The game was postponed due to "extreme weather conditions" in the area. A lake effect snowstorm has dropped more than four feet of snow in Western New York, with more expected overnight.

Officials will look into playing the game on Thursday or on an alternative date.
On Tuesday night, Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta missed his team's game against the Sharks due to the storm, and some of the team's medical staff was stranded as well.

The Buffalo Bills, who are scheduled to play at home on Sunday, estimate there are 220,000 tons of snow at their Ralph Wilson Stadium and are offering fans $10 per hour and game tickets to help shovel the snow out.
On Wednesday, the Niagara women's basketball team returned to campus after their bus was stranded in the snow for 30 hours.
