Five-star linebacker Malik Jefferson commits to Texas

Five-star linebacker Malik Jefferson from Mesquite, Texas committed to the University of Texas on Friday.
Jefferson is the No. 1 ranked linebacker and No. 22 recruit in the country, according to Rivals. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker chose Texas over Texas A&M and UCLA.

Four-star wide receiver DeAndre McNeal, Jefferson's high school teammate, also committed to Texas on Friday.
The pair of commitments are the latest in Texas' 22-recruit class of 2015, which is ranked No. 14 in the nation by Rivals.

The Longhorns finished the regular season 6-6 in their first season under head coach Charlie Strong. They will play Arkansas (6-6) in the Texas Bowl in Houston on Dec. 29.
