Michigan senior linebacker Desmond Morgan announced on Instagram that he has been granted a fifth year of eligibility by the NCAA.

Morgan had applied for a medical hardship waiver, which had to be approved by the organization.

After starting at linebacker in both 2012 and 2013, Morgan sustained an arm injury early in the 2014 season that caused him to miss the final 11 games.

As a junior in 2013, Morgan made 79 tackles with one sack and one interception. In his career he has 229 tackles (14 for loss), including 111 solo ones.

The Wolverines went 5-7 during the 2014 season, after which coach Brady Hoke was fired. He's since been replaced by Jim Harbaugh.

Round 5 is official. Thanks NCAA
