TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin underwent surgery on Thursday to address an injured bone in his left, non-throwing wrist, reports David Ubben of Fox Sports.
Boykin will miss the Horned Frogs' spring game, which is scheduled for April 10, but will be "ready to go" by May 1, according to coach Gary Patterson.
"Everything is great," TCU coach Gary Patterson told FOX Sports Southwest on Thursday. "Minor surgery so no worries."
As a junior last season, Boykin completed 301 of his 492 pass attempts for a a school-record 3,901 yards and 33 touchdowns while adding 707 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
He finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
The Horned Frogs posted a 12-1 record last season, including a 42-3 win over Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, and finished sixth in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
TCU opens the 2015 season Sept. 3 at Minnesota.
