Tennessee wide receiver Von Pearson accused of rape

Tennessee wide receiver Von Pearson is a suspect in an alleged rape, the Knoxville Police Department confirmed to SI.com on Friday. 

No charges have been filed, police said. 

Police were called to the scene of the alleged incident around 6 a.m. ET on Friday. The alleged victim and other witnesses named Pearson as a suspect. 

The six witnesses include Tennessee football players Dimarya Mixon and Alton Howard, according to The Tennesseean

WVLT in Knoxville previously reported on the accusations. 

Including Pearson, at least six members of Tennessee's 2014 football team have been accused of sexual assault, according to The Tennesseean. 

Pearson, 24, transferred to Tennessee before the 2014 season. He is set to be a senior this year. 

Last season, Pearson caught 38 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns.
