Florida State quarterback De'Andre Johnson has been suspended for an unspecified violation of athletic department policy.
A report from ESPN's Mark Schlabach said Johnson is accused of punching a 21-year-old female Florida State student in a bar on Wednesday. Johnson has not been arrested and has not been charged with any crime.
According to ESPN.com, Johnson got into a confrontation with the woman after she cut in front of him at a bar near campus while they were waiting to order drinks. Witnesses told authorities the woman raised her arms, with Johnson then grabbing her before punching her in the face.
The network obtained a “a heavily redacted incident report” from the Tallahassee Police Department, which redacted the alleged suspect's name but not the accuser's name.
Johnson, a true freshman, enrolled early at Florida State in January. A four-star recruit, according to Rivals.com, he was named Mr. Football for the state of Florida in 2014.
