Incoming BYU freshman running back Charles West was shot in the arm while playing pickup basketball at a Dallas middle school.

Incoming BYU freshman running back Charles West was shot in the arm while playing pickup basketball at a Dallas middle school on Sunday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
D Magazineobtained video it says shows the shooting.
West was transported to a local hospital and released, police said.
West committed to play for the Cougars in January and was arrested for rape a week later. He is accused of raping woman while holding a knife to her neck. He was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in March.
Because of the rape allegations, West's status with BYU is unclear. Head coach Bronco Mendenhall told reporters in June that there was “no word” on West.
