Univeristy of Nebraska and Adidas revealed Nebraska's new alternate uniforms on Thursday, which Adidas called a "modernized, metallic" variation of the classic uniforms.

The black uniforms with metallic red and silver accents are a departure from the red jerseys and white pants Nebraska has traditionally sported at home.

The "Primeknit Husker Bold" alternative uniforms will be worn on Saturday, Oct. 24 when the Cornhuskers host Northwestern.

Adidas also recently unveiled new "modernized" uniforms for Miami and UCLA.

The Cornhuskers open their 2015 campaign at home against BYU on Sept. 5. Nebraska finished the 2014 season 9-4 and fired head coach Bo Pelini in December, replacing him with former Oregon State head coach Mike Riley a few days later.
