Florida quarterbacks Will Grier, Treon Harris will both play in opener
“It will play itself out,” McElwain said, according to the Associated Press. “Like I've said, and I mean this, you guys keep pushing for this, but there isn't a timetable. The timetable is figure out a way to win the football game with whoever is moving the team at that position and getting the right parts at the other positions as well.”
Grier, ranked the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2014 by Rivals, redshirted as a freshman last season after injuring his back. Harris, a sophomore, started the last six games in 2014, leading the Gators to a 4–2 record. Grier is regarded as the superior passer while Harris is known more for his ability to create plays with his legs.
McElwain is entering his first season with the Gators after spending three seasons as the head coach at Colorado State.
