Arizona will be without injured linebacker Scooby Wright for the next three to four weeks, coach Rich Rodriguez told reporters Monday.

SI’s Brian Hamilton reported Saturday that Wright had surgery to clean up a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee, and would be out at least two weeks.

Wright sustained a knee injury in the first half of Arizona’s opening game against Texas-San Antonio on Thursday.

The junior was named preseason All-America after a stellar 2014 campaign that earned him the Chuck Bednarik Award and First-Team All-Pac-12 honors. He was second in the nation in solo tackles with 99.

Arizona will travel to Nevada on Sept. 12, and begins conference play Sept. 26 against UCLA.
