Arizona quarterback Anu Solomon left Saturday’s game against UCLA with an apparent head or neck injury.
Solomon was injured in the second quarter while sliding to avoid a hit. His head hit the leg of a UCLA defender and his neck bent awkwardly.
Arizona did not elaborate on the nature of Solomon’s injury but head coach Rich Rodriguez said in his halftime interview that he thought it was unlikely his quarterback would return to the game.
Senior Jerrard Randall replaced Solomon under center. He completed one of five pass attempts in the first half and ran for a 39-yard touchdown.
Solomon was 4 of 10 for 55 yards and a touchdown before he was injured.
