Missouri suspends QB Maty Mauk, OL Malik Cuellar for violating team policy
Wednesday September 30th, 2015

Missouri has suspended starting quarterback Maty Mauk and offensive lineman Malik Cuellar indefinitely.

The team announced the decision Tuesday night. The two players were suspended for “disciplinary reasons related to violation of team policies,” according to an official statement.

Neither player will be available Saturday when Mizzou takes on South Carolina. “Their status going forward will be evaluated after the game,” the school wrote

Freshman Drew Lock is expected to start in Mauk's place. Lock has completed 15 of 25 passes for 225 yards, a touchdown and an interception in spot duty this season, appearing in each of the Tigers’ four games.

Mauk, a redshirt junior, has started parts of the last two seasons for Missouri, and has completed 51.8 percent of his passes for 654 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions in 2015. His 145 yards on the ground are second-best on the team.

Cuellar, a junior-college transfer from the City College of San Francisco, began the year as the team's backup right tackle.
