Sunday November 22nd, 2015

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was ruled out at halftime of the Sooners’ game against TCU on Saturday with a head injury.

Oklahoma confirmed that Mayfield sustained a head injury during the game, and said he was held out for precautionary reasons. Backup Trevor Knight replaced Mayfield to start the second half.

The No. 7 Sooners led the No. 18 Horned Frogs 23–7 at halftime. Mayfield exited the game having completed nine of 20 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Knight, a junior, has completed 17 of 24 passes in spot duty this season after serving as the team’s starter for much of 2014.
