Watch: Security guard punches Houston fan running on field

A security guard appeared to assault a University of Houston student running onto the field.

A security guard appears to assault a University of Houston fan running onto the field in video released Saturday.

The Cougars won the AAC title with a win over the Temple Owls at TDECU Stadium in Houston. After the game, fans rushed the field. In the video, one of the security guards can be seen punching a fan multiple times. 

The fan eventually stands up and walks away. It is unclear why that particular person was targeted.

Another video surfaced showing a separate security guard tackling another fan.

Houston vice president for athletics Hunter Yurachek released a statement later Saturday regarding the incident.
