Tempers flare after Minnesota delivers cheap shot on Penn State kicker Joey Julius

Tempers flared in Saturday’s Penn State–Minnesota game after a cheap shot on Nittany Lions kicker Joey Julius.
Julius, who had been pancaked and hit hard on kickoffs throughout the game, kicked off and was viciously hit away from the play by freshman linebacker Jaylen Waters. He was down on the ground for a bit, as Penn State players spilled onto the field.
Waters was also flagged for the hit.

Julius, who weighs 259 pounds, has been delivering vicious hits on opposing returners this season, most recently Michigan’s Jordan Lewis last week.
