Police responded to reports of a man with a machete at Colorado’s athletic facility.
Police fatally shot a suspect at Colorado’s athletic facility after receiving reports of a man in the building armed with a machete Wednesday morning, CU police confirmed at a press conference.
The person was shot in a stairwell inside the Champions Center, which is attached to the northeast corner of the school’s football stadium. Police received a report of an armed man at roughly 9 a.m. local time and reported shots fired 20 minutes later.
The suspect was ordered to drop the machete but did not comply and was shot.
The facility was opened in April and contains training, administrative and dining facilities for the Buffaloes program.
