Penn State kicker Joey Julius targeted for second straight week

Saturday October 8th, 2016

For the second straight week, an opposing player has been ejected for targeting Penn State kicker Joey Julius.

Maryland’s Isaiah Davis was tossed for a late, unnecessary hit on the 5'10", 260 pound Julius, who was not involved in the play whatsoever. Last week, Minnesota’s Jaylen Waters was also ejected for a similar play, leading to an ejection for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Here is the play from this week:

Julius also has a bit of a reputation for laying down hits and getting physical with defenders on kickoff plays.
