Texas A&M secured a big-time quarterback commitment on Wednesday afternoon. Kyler Murray, a four-star dual-threat prospect, according to Rivals.com, committed to the Aggies on Twitter.
Many recruiting experts expected Murray to ultimately land at Texas A&M. He pledged his services to the Aggies over Oregon.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Murray hails from Allen, Texas. He passed for more than 3,500 yards and rushed for more than 1,200 yards while leading Allen High to a second straight Class 5A Division I state championship in 2013. He also punched in 65 total touchdowns as a junior.
Former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel congratulated the Aggies new commit on Twitter.
Talked to little bro @TheKylerMurray last night and couldn't be happier for him. Welcome to the family my brother go ball this year! #GigEm
