The 5' 9" Navy Destroyer ran for 834 yards and 15 TDs while leading the Midshipmen to a No. 4 national ranking.

Heisman moment: Gained 115 yards and scored three TDs to help upset Army 43-12 in 1959.

First African-American Heisman winner averaged 5.5 yards per carry, scored 15 TDs and topped 90 yards six times while running out of a three-man backfield.

Heisman moment: Secured Syracuse's 1959 national title with this Cotton Bowl stat line: one rushing TD, one 87-yard receiving TD, one interception -- all on a bad hammy.
