After a win Wednesday, where will the New Mexico Lobos end up in the latest Bracket Watch? (Greg Nelson/SI)

It can't be denied any longer (well, unless you're a New Mexico fan making a perfectly reasonable point about the Lobos' resume in comparison). Gonzaga has moved to the 1-seed line with just more than a week to go before Selection Sunday. With two more wins, games in which they will be anywhere from heavily to considerably favored, the Bulldogs very well might join 2004 Saint Joe's as a "1-seed Cinderella" on merit.

The picture at the bottom of the bracket? Ugh. Much like a golfer who posts an OK round and then sits in the clubhouse and watches the field come back to him, the best move at this point seems to be "play as few games as possible" and have everyone else lose around you.

All of this should make championship week as dramatic in terms of shaping the bracket as we have seen in awhile.
