Tennessee has unveiled new alternate gray uniforms to be worn in at least one SEC home game this season. The Vols traditionally sport orange uniforms at home and white uniforms on the road. The new alternates feature "Smokey Gray" jerseys and pants, but keep the white helmet with the orange T.

Tennessee coach Butch Jones told VolQuest.com that the revamped jerseys will be an advantage on the recruiting trail:

"If you had to put a top-10 list that the prospective student-athletes ask you, in the top three would be uniforms," Jones said. "We obviously have great colors, and we're excited about the 'Smokey' gray addition to our traditions and our family here. A lot of thought went into this. We wanted to be very respective of our traditions, but also continue to move forward in this as well."

The Vols play conference foes Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn and Vanderbilt in Knoxville this season. Sources told VolsQuest that the uniforms will likely make an appearance against Georgia on Oct. 5.
