Life heading into the Big East isn't getting any easier for Butler. With the program in the early stages of moving forward after Brad Stevens' surprise NBA departure in July, the Bulldogs received more bad news on Friday when forward Roosevelt Jones was declared out for the season after suffering ligament damage in his left wrist.

Jones was injured during the first game of Butler's summer trip to Australia, and further examination once the team returned to Indianapolis revealed the extent of the injury, which will require surgery.

"Roosevelt suffered an injury that resulted in ligament damage to his left wrist, and he'll undergo season-ending surgery," Butler head athletic trainer Ryan Galloy said in a release from the school. "His prognosis is good and he's expected to make a full recovery for next season.
