Between the Hashes: High-fiving dogs, hard-hitting policemen and the best of Week 12

Each week, Campus Union will delve into the fun, the weird and the wacky of college football with a series called Between The Hashes. It’s a way to decompress from the madness of the week, and to find a few things that you might have missed.

We did it. In Week 12, we got the combo of great finishes, surprising upsets, huge stat lines and memorable quotes. Give yourselves a pat on the back. I'm proud of each and every last one of you. We're running out of time, so hug the person next you see, line up some high-fives and grab every last tweet and Vine you can find. We're in this thing together.

Does he have any eligibility remaining?

Seriously, this hit by an Oklahoma police officer might have been the best of the week. Streaking (and I believe we're using that phrase to loosely describe any fan dumb enough to run on the field) inherits a certain measure of risk, and SB Nation's Jon Bois has dedicated some of his time to focus on "Field Stormers."

Let's see that again in super slow motion.

The Memorial UGA I – UGA VIII Mascot Award

And a resounding favorite for Mascot of the Year, it's Diesel, NIU's adorable high-fiving dog.

Love you lil' guy.

Chromed out 11-helmet

Michigan State wore awesome helmets while beating Nebraska and keeping its big season going.

In another week, maybe those get top honors. But the Hawaii uniforms. Guys, the Hawaii uniforms.

♫ Everybody Wants To Play 'Bama ♫

(to the tune of this)

http://youtu.be/ST86JM1RPl0

I don't want this movement to go away. In fact, I want baseball teams, Pop Warner teams and guys sitting in their basement playing Call of Duty to start yelling "WE WANT 'BAMA." It's short, sweet and out of control. Heck, Duke's student section started chanting it after the Blue Devils beat Miami 48-30 on Saturday. Here are two other fun examples. Florida State might actually get a chance to play the Crimson Tide.

Kansas, on the other hand? Bless your heart, Jayhawks fan.

Hold on to your butts.

Stickum futures are up

There were two Catch of the Year finalists on Saturday. Both came in critical moments, and both were completely insane.

In the morning slate, there was UCF's J.J. Worton reeling in a bomb from quarterback Blake Bortles.

Later, there was Auburn's miraclous Nick Marshall-to-Ricardo Louis connection, of which a full account is provided by Campus Union's Zac Ellis.

Good football is good.

Boats and steaks

We already knew Western Michigan was the most interesting one-win team in college football. But if you've been missing out on all the boat-rowing action, this picture sums it up quite nicely.

Who knew field goals could be this exciting?

Let's go to the tape.

Poetry in motion

This GIF from Texas' 38-13 loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday says it all.
