USC offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Clay Helton will coach the Trojans in their bowl game this season, athletic director Pat Haden announced on Tuesday.

Haden made the announcement at the school's introduction of Steve Sarkisian as its next head coach. Sarkisian, a former Trojans assistant, announced on Monday that he had accepted the USC job after spending five years as the head coach at Washington.

Helton is in his fourth season as USC quarterbacks coach and first as offensive coordinator. The Trojans are coming off a 9-4 regular season; following Lane Kiffin's ouster in late September, they went 6-2 under interim coach Ed Orgeron.
