Mark Mangino will return to the Big 12 for the first time since coaching Kansas for eight seasons.

Mangino replaces Iowa State offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham. The Cyclones had a dismal season on offense, ranking second-to-last in the Big 12 in scoring offense and third-to-last in total offense. Iowa State finished the year 3-9 with a 2-7 conference record, its worst season since a 2-10 2008 campaign.
