Myles Turner is headed to Texas.

The top uncommitted and unsigned recruit in the Class of 2014 announced Wednesday that he would play for the Longhorns, with the presence of the 6-foot-11, 240-pounder alone enhancing the program's fortunes for next season.

"I will be pursuing my education and be a part of the men’s basketball program at … the University of Texas, baby," Turner said on ESPNU. "Hook ‘em."

Turner is the No. 2 recruit nationally per ESPN and No. 9 in the country according to Rivals.com, and he had considered Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, SMU, Ohio State, and Oklahoma State.

Turner joins 3-star small forward Jordan Barnett in a two-man Texas recruiting class. The Longhorns return five starters from the team that went 19-5 and won 11 games in the Big 12 last season.
