Ex-West Virginia guard Eron Harris transfers to Michigan State

Michigan Statehas added transfer Eron Harris, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard who was West Virginia's second leading scorer last season.

Harris, who had also considered Michigan and Purdue, averaged 17.2 points in 33 games for the Mountaineers in 2013-14 and will have two years of eligibility left. He scored at least 20 points in 11 games, shot 43.8 percent from the floor and averaged 3.5 rebounds a game.

Under NCAA rules, Harris would have to sit out the 2014-15 season unless he receives a waiver to play this season. The Indianapolis native said in March that he wanted to transfer closer to home, and he cancelled a planned trip to Michigan this past weekend.
