Oklahoma State is close to signing two significant transfers in former LSU guard Anthony Hickey and junior college forward Igor Ibaka, the brother of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, reports John Helsley of The Oklahoman.

Hickey, a 5-foot-11 point guard, left LSU along with two other players last month after not having his scholarship renewed. He was also suspended for a portion of his sophomore season for violating athletic department and university policies.

Hickey averaged 8.4 points, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals in starting all 31 games last season for the Tigers.

Hickey would be eligible immediately to play if he receives a waiver from the NCAA and would fill a need at the guard position with the departures of Marcus Smart, who declared for the NBA draft and Markel Brown, who graduated.

Ibaka played last season at Northeastern Oklahoma, averaging 13.7 points and 9.6 rebounds in 30 games while shooting 64 percent. He will join the team next season after graduating from junior college and have at least two seasons of eligibility left once he enrolls at Oklahoma State.
