Ohio State on Friday received a verbal commitment from center Daniel Giddens. Giddens, the No. 37-ranked player in the class of 2015, according to Rivals.com, chose the Buckeyes over Arizona, Florida and Kansas, among other programs.

The Marietta, Ga., native becomes the fourth member of a recruiting class that also features four-star shooting guard Austin Grandstaff, four-star small forward Mickey Mitchell and three-star point guard A.J. Harris. A strong defensive presence with good range and athleticism, Giddens could make an impact right away for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State is coming off a season in which it won 25 games and posted a 10-8 record in conference play before being upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by No. 11 seed Dayton.
