Alabama has been picked to win the SEC in the conference's preseason media poll, the conference announced Thursday.

The Crimson Tide received 154 votes, 79 more than Auburn, the next-highest vote-getter. Alabama and Auburn were also picked 1-2 in the SEC West, with Alabama winning that poll 1,915-1,735.

South Carolina was picked to win the SEC East, receiving 1,895 votes. Georgia was picked second with 1,777 votes.

Auburn is the defending SEC champion, defeating Missouri 59-42 in last season's SEC championship game.
