Auburn QB Nick Marshall's marijuana citation paid, case closed
Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall has paid the fine for his marijuana citation and the case is now closed, according to AL.com.
Marshall was cited for marijuana possession on July 11 after being pulled over for illegally tinted windows. He was ticketed about $1,000 for the 8-9 grams of marijuana and $100 for the windows.
Marshall's mother paid the fine, which means the quarterback does not have to attend a Sept. 10 court date.
The university pulled Marshall from his planned appearance at the recent SEC Media Days and did not allow him to attend the ESPY awards, where his game-winning touchdown pass versus Georgia was nominated for Best Play. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said on Monday that he has not yet decided how he will punish his senior quarterback, who is a former junior college transfer.

Marshall was named to the preseason all-SEC first team, and Auburn was chosen to finish second. In 2013, he had 1,976 yards passing, 1,068 yards rushing and a total of 26 touchdowns.
