The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior underwent surgery on Friday and will miss at least one week of preseason practice.
Clemson described the injury as "minor."
“Charone was having a great summer, but tweaked a knee on Wednesday making a reception,” said Head Coach Dabo Swinney. “The surgery was successful and his ACL is fine. He will probably miss the first week of practice and then we will go from there. We expect him to play against Georgia in the season opener.”
Peake hauled in eight passes for 84 yards and one touchdown over two games in 2013 before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the season.
Clemson went 11-2 (7-1 ACC) and finished in second place in the ACC Atlantic Division.
The Tigers open their 2014 season at Georgia on Aug. 30.
