Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon was involved in an altercation at a restaurant near campus Friday morning, his attorney confirmed to Jason Kersey and Andrew Knittle of The Oklahoman.

For Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight, success lies in keeping things simple

Mixon has not been arrested but Norman police has confirmed the incident at Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe and is investigating the matter. An OU athletics spokesman told The Oklahoman the school is conducting its own investigation as well.

According to an incident report released by Norman police, an unnamed male assaulted a woman inside the restaurant, and the woman suffered "apparent broken bones."

Mixon, an Oakley, Calif., native, reportedly contacted his attorney, Kevin Finlay, about the incident shortly after it happened. Finlay said police have been in contact with Mixon.

“We are cooperating, fully, with the police on this,” Finlay told The Oklahoman Friday evening. “Joe is definitely looking forward to the truth coming out … that’s about all I can say at this time.”
