Four-star wide receiver recruit John Burt has committed to the Texas Longhorns. He had narrowed his list to Texas, Auburn, Florida State and Miami.

Four-star wide receiver recruit John Burt has committed to the Texas Longhorns, he announced Sunday. 

Burt had offers from a host of prominent programs but had narrowed his list to Texas, Auburn, Florida State and Miami, according to Orangebloods.com

A 6-foot-3, 179-pound receiver from Lincoln High in Tallahassee, Fla., Burt will join Texas for the 2015 season. He's rated the No. 127 overall recruit by 247Sports.com's composite ranking.

Texas is entering its first season under head coach Charlie Strong. In the past week, four players have been dismissed and two more have been suspended by Strong.

Texas went 8-5 in 2013 and lost to Oregon in the Alamo Bowl.
