Marshall RB Kevin Grooms dismissed after assault, burglary arrest
Marshall running back Kevin Grooms has been dismissed from the football team following a weekend arrest.
According to the Charleston Daily Mail and the Associated Press, Grooms was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic assault, burglary, petit larceny and fleeing on foot.
Marshall’s athletic department announced Grooms was dismissed for a “violation of team rules and policies.” Grooms rushed for 1,240 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career.
Grooms has been arrested three times in the last 18 months, according to the Charleston Daily Mail.
In April 2013, he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of underage consumption and obstruction.

In November 2013, Grooms was arrested on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and obstruction. The football team suspended him indefinitely, and he missed the Conference USA championship game against Rice and the team's+ Military Bowl victory over Maryland.
