Ohio State defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle reinstated
Ohio State defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle, who was arrested and dismissed from the team in early July for his involvement in a brawl at a Lorain, Ohio, bar, has been reinstated.
As noted on Twitter by Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch, Sprinkle is now listed on Ohio State's official roster.
Sprinkle faced several misdemeanor charges, including drug possession and rioting, in connection to the incident. Those charges were dropped last Thursday, when Sprinkle pleaded no contest to attempted failure to comply.
Sprinkle was fined $500, given a 30-day suspended jail sentence and two years probation. He was also ordered to participate in community service and educational programs, according to the Chronicle-Telegram.
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer addressed Sprinkle's status last week at Big Ten Media Days. From The Lantern:
Meyer said Sprinkle’s status remains unchanged, and that he will reevaluate that status pending the resolution of his legal issues.
“If something happens, especially if you hear something serious, just remove from the program and evaluate at the appropriate time,” Meyer said. “So at this time he’s no longer part of the program.”

Sprinkle was the No. 24-ranked strongside defensive end in the class of 2013, according to the recruiting website Rivals.com.
He enrolled at Ohio State in January 2013 and sat out last season as a redshirt.
Ohio State, ranked sixth in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll, opens the 2014 season Aug. 30 at Navy.
