Florida State will pay the premium for quarterback Jameis Winston’s $10 million disability and loss of value insurance policy, reports Tomahawk Nation.

According to the report, Florida State will pay a premium in the $55,000 to $60,000 range, which will be provided by the school's Student Assistant Fund. 

College athletes can purchase insurance in case illness or injury causes their stock to fall before entering a league's draft.

Winston completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,057 yards with 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season, leading the Seminoles to their third national title. Florida State is ranked No. 1 in the USA Today preseason coaches poll.
